This is a an activity for GCSE students studying electrolysis. This can be carried out before doing a practical or afterwards for reinforcement. Students will examine different cutouts placed around the room (as a circus) and based on written observations, conclude what is being produced at the electrodes. Upon completion of the circus, students will look at completed grid and formulate rules to predict what is being formed in aqueous solutions at each electrode. There is also an attached grid with the substances that are produced for weaker students, they only have to look for a pattern.
