GCSE FRENCH: FRENCH 500 VERBS REFERENCE BOOK #2

GCSE FRENCH: 500 French verbs reference book, alphabetical French-English and English-French - we use this as a year-round reference resource, and my students find it particularly useful for exam revision, whether working in class time or at home.

For UK teachers, these verbs address the specifications for AQA EDUQAS EDEXCEL SQA AND ALL UK FRENCH AGE 16 EXAMINATIONS. Non-UK is roughly intermediate into advanced level.

I actually use these kinds of reference books throughout my French programmes, not only as we approach exam time - they’re a really valuable and comprehensive reference resource for students, and I also use them for quick vocab quizzes at frequent and regular intervals - simply shout out the French or English verb, the first team to shout out the correct answer wins a point - it’s a great vocab quiz for vocab recall practice and revision.

The topics/themes covered by these verbs address all UK examination boards, and are a great guide for intermediate into advanced French in general.

A quick contents checklist of topics/themes:

  • youth, identity & lifestyle
  • fashion
  • culture, customs and traditions
  • relationships and family
  • technology and social media
  • sport, health and fitness
  • free time, hobbies and interests
  • entertainment and leisure
  • food and drink
  • local, national & international global areas of interest
  • transport
  • France and French-speaking countries
  • holidays, tourism and travel
  • environment, pollution, recycling and climate
  • social issues
  • school, college, current and future study
  • work experience, skills and personal qualities
  • employment, ambitions and career plans

We use the Notes and Next Steps template to think about progress and recall - students find this really useful, and do like to map and track their own progress.

I’ve uploaded a range of French verbs reference book formats - I give different formats to students at various points of their learning program - some students prefer to have either shorter or longer reference books, and some definitely like to have them all!

My students also really benefit from the written recall challenges workbooks that I prepare for them - they’re popular all year-round, and we use them between school years during vacation time too, to keep memories fresh.

This is a 22-page reference booklet - I’ve found the most user-friendly format is to photocopy double-sided, with two staples down the left-hand side.

The file is non-editable and the license for purchase is a single-user license only - the resource is copyright, all rights reserved - it may not be copied, shared or rewritten in any way - I’ve included the James Henry Publishing Terms of Use in the zip file.

MERCI BEAUCOUP !
