Lesson begins with a who am I? focused on explorers learned about in previous lessons. Students then look at the significance of Raleigh and make notes about him. Students then read an information sheet on the 1585 and 1587 voyages to Virginia and complete a comparison table. Students then complete a diamond nine on why the attempted colonization failed. There is a plenary quiz where students have to guess which expedition the quiz relates to.
