Geography in the News Quiz is a twenty question quiz based on the news of the week from an geographicTES perspective. First 15 questions are multiple choice and the last 5 are mapping questions where students are given a news item and need to identify the place in question on a map of the world or a region. The quiz is posted toTES each Sunday.
Answers are provided for the teacher.
The quiz is designed to engage students in upper elementary (primary) and junior high school in the news of the week. The quiz can be used as a lesson starter/filler or as a homework exercise with students finding the answers through searching the internet and maybe even discussing questions with parents/siblings over the dinner table!!
