The Demon in the Embers is the fourth book in The Scar Gatherer series, a sequence of seven time travel adventures spanning British history from Roman times up to WW2. The series website has a wealth of additional material on each period, written for children. The Restoration period pages include a timeline of the Restoration, pages about famous people from Restoration times, Restoration recipes, and a page about the Great Plague.
