Guided Reading: USK2 - Rainforest Life (6 Week Flipchart Slides and Activities)
This guided reading teaching resource uses the Curriculum Visions Text ‘Rainforest Life’ written by Dr Brian Knapp in an easy to follow way. Students are guided through reading comprehension that uses the complete questions from a modified 2017 Reading SAT paper through the different strands of reading comprehension. We also used the CGP SPaG activity books to supplement the SPaG curriculum. This could easily be changed or use other paper resources with SPaG activities.
Group A is the higher ability children leading through to group E.
Monday lessons requires group E to follow the Scholastic reading comprehension Year 6 (ISBN-10: 1407100548 / ISBN-13: 978-1407100548) programme of work to help develop individual skills. This is easy to change if you chose not to follow this programme.
