Many pupils with SEN can feel that they do not ‘have a voice’ and can be frustrated by a lack control over what happens to them, particularly if their needs are complex, they have communication difficulties and they require a high level of adult support.

These resources are easy to use low tech strategies to support pupils to ‘have their say’, input into teaching situations and so develop independent learning skills.

Included on the pdf are:

  • The ‘thinking voice’ symbols
  • The ‘I have something to say’ strategy - card and symbols

Suitable for preverbal and nonverbal pupils and those with communication difficulties.
