This lesson is based on the 'Speed Dating Strategy&' advised by Mike Gershon on TES. I used it to explore Justin Bieber&';s comments on how Anne Frank would have been his fan if she had been alive today. The objective of the lesson is: To discuss and evaluate whether there are parts of History that could never be the subject of comedy I stressed the importance of speaking and listening, in order to be effective learners, to my students.

Thanks! I really like this idea. I can see how it could be adapted to start all kinds of discussions...I'm going to try it out tomorrow!

I like the idea of this - although it might capture the girls' attention more than the boys! Although not quite in the same league a similar approach could be taken with an extract from Blackadder in WW1 or Dad's Army, perhaps?
