This is the ninth of an eleven lesson sequence that gives a brief introduction and overview of events in Europe following the end of the First World War. The sequence will focus on the end of the war and what followed with the Treaty of Versailles, some of the key events in the 1920's, the change in British politics, the rise of Hitler and the following actions that broke the Treaty of Versailles and policy of appeasement. These lessons have been written with upper KS2 and lower KS3 in mind but should be easily adaptable for KS4 students as well.

This lesson focuses on how Hitler began to revoke the terms of the Treaty of Versailles and how he was able to justify his actions. Included are all the resources needed to run the lesson with a presentation and activities as well as the sequence of learning plan.
