Hopi Pots - When Clay Sings
Through prose, Byrd Baylor tells the reader how ancient pots can be pieced together to tell a story from long ago. Students learn about the animals and wildlife that were present in Native life in the Southwest. Through drawing, recall, and critical thinking, students learn about Hopi life as a child and adult. Activities are included. (In one activity, students will see the making of a coiled pot, then make their own).
