Students analyse historical facts in relation to heretics executed by various Tudor monarchs to assist them to evaluate if Mary I deserved her nickname. Lesson includes sources to analyse and evaluate and also develops students skill of empathy. Activities prompt students to assess whether she could have successfully brought Catholicism back to England and whether her personal life impacted the way she ruled England.
