How to reach out to teenagers with skin conditions
A new initiative raising awareness of the potential impact of acne, eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo and all skin conditions on a teenager's whole school life and mental health.

Skin is such a mainstream issue for teenagers and yet it is not part of the discussion in schools. From my own experience the degree of emotional upset means those teenagers who are affected by a condition stay mainly silent. So schools are unaware that the impact can be far-reaching and serious.

This guide highlights the true impact on emotional wellbeing for many teenagers and explains how, simply by raising the subject, it will help enormously.

A whole school approach is recommended. Also, a peer support network for those with shared experiences may be very beneficial.
