This display is designed to enhance students’ understanding of the instruments of the orchestra. The different pages are colour coded by instrument family (strings, woodwind, brass, percussion plus keyboard and popular instruments) and each contains lots of information on the different instruments including range, tunings, the number found in an orchestra, terms to describe sound and much more.
Many of the pages include QR codes, these link to the excellent series of videos produced by the Philharmonia orchestra. They give a great deal of insight into the workings of each instrument.
The slides are designed to be printed A3 or A4, laminated and trimmed into rectangles. They then piece together. There are 66 pages in total - the finished display is quite large even with A4 printing.
Editing of the display is encouraged, but please give credit where credit is due.
IMPORTANT - the blue orchestra poster seen at the centre of the the cover image is produced by Daydream Education. It is not included in the price of this display. It is included because the rest of the display is designed to complement and enhance it (the colour coding is the same for example). It can be purchased here:
