Interrogatives Question Writing Activity
This lesson covers the concepts of discussing the upcoming weekend, word order of time & place, interrogatives, inverted word order (starting a question with a verb) and a focus verb of the teacher’s choice. This lesson is designed for A.1 and A.2 novice German students. It can also work as a good review for upper level students.

It’s Friday and you want to encourage your students to ask a partner about their weekend plans. Before students can do this independently they need guidance on how to use interrogatives effectively and how to use inverted word order of subjects and verb to write questions auf Deutsch.

Take about 1-50 minute period.

This lesson includes:
1. 1 - 8 section graphic organizer for students
2. A presentation for the teacher that includes an introduction to questions using the focus verb: gehen
3. An additional slide of the sample answers to the example questions.
4. A directions sheet and the answer key (teacher presentation)

The PowerPoint is editable so you can reproduce the same activity quickly for additional verbs or modify it to fit your current chapter.
