This video is about students using Google Docs with their class without setting up Google Apps.
To get started, the teacher does need a gmail account and it will be useful to make a generic one for them ‘as a teacher’ rather than use their personal one. They will also need a way of sharing the link to the document afterwards. This might be through email or the school VLE.
I have written this add-on for Google Docs to help teacher to create keyword lists and student view those lists.
For anyone using Google Apps within school this add-on will provide students with a clear and easily accessed list of words and means as a sidebar within the Google Doc they are working on. This avoids the need to therefore open separate word lists or have other documents available, via a VLE or even paper based. The add-on is available here
The PDF attached just contains this link.
I made this set of cards to be reduced to A5 size, laminated and taken to camp. Teams of students were given the cards and a camera and challenged to take at least one photo of each type given in the cards. They had 2 hours to do it, and a lot of fun was had running around the paddocks, climbing trees and setting up shots. It also meant that we had some great photos to take back to school and show off, after the camp!
An 8 round Christmas quiz
Consists of :
Round 1 – Adverts (Guess the 2015 Christmas Advert)
Round 2 – Christmas Confectionary
Round 3 – Christmas True or False
Round 4 – Christmas Dingbats
Round 5 – Celeb Photos
Round 6 – Christmas Movies
Round 7 – Stats Round
Round 8 – Christmas Knowledge
Its all on the powerpoint - don't show the pupils the adverts (you will need access to youtube); I have added a little comment about how long to play each one because some do say the companies name !
End of year quiz to use with all secondary year groups and classes, maybe years 5 and 6 too.
Quiz contains celebrity mash up, current years news questions, movies, general knowledge and music and theme tunes round.
Questions, Answers and MUSIC all contained in one easy to follow PowerPoint. Very easy to use, minimal work from the teacher:)
Pupils loved it, enjoy and have a great summer break.
Intended to be printed and laminated for a wall display on literary devices. Uses examples from a lot of modern films (lots of Harry Potter!) to make explanations clear and relevant to pupils.
I hope it comes in handy.
PLEASE NOTE: A new updated 2016 version of this resource is now available. Spreadsheets have been updated as have all objectives. New overview sheet allows you to see pupils' achievements in individual strands. Tracking sheets have been improved to make tracking more efficient. End of term/year reports have been added. Check out my shop - by clicking on my username - to find this new must have resource.
Assessment spreadsheets and tracking resources I've created using a 7-point system. Enter numbers 1-7 (which is explained in the introduction) into spreadsheet for learning objectives which will then calculate averages and a progress 'level' for the accompanying tracking sheets. The newly added overview sheet is a great addition which gives you an instant understanding of the current level of your children in maths, reading, writing and science. Who needs classroom monitor and the ongoing cost? This system, plus my foundation subjects tracking system (see link below), will be all your school needs for tracking progress in this 'interesting' era of assessment without levels. Please, leave feedback for this amazing resource!
