Ions and Ionic Compounds [Puzzle Pieces]

Activity for for intermediate high school chemistry.

Ion shapes designed for cutting out and laminating. Shapes include name and symbol of each ion.

Students use the cut-out shapes to help them determine the correct chemical formula for the different ionic compounds they form.

Includes 59 of the most common monatomic and polyatomic ions.

Tip: Get student volunteers to do the cutting out for you ;-)

This resource is aligned to the Australian Year 9 Chemistry curriculum, but would be useful for other curriculums as well.
