Kandinsky was a founder of abstract art. His publication of ‘Concerning the Spiritual in Art’ in 1910 (some quotes from this text you will find in the PDF) had a huge impact on other artists in West-Europe and the U.S.
Together with the German artist Franz Marc Kandinsky started the artist-group Blaue Reiter / Blue Rider in Munich, South-Germany, in 1912. That’s why Kandinsky was a most important figure in German art history. He published many essays a. o. in the ‘Almanac’ of Blue Rider and at Bauhaus.
