An interactive PowerPoint to use in the run-up to Christmas. It contains 80 Christmas-themed questions suitable for KS1.

Use as a starter, an assembly, a filler or a main activity. All questions are multiple choice and fit into 8 different categories: The First Christmas, Dates and Times, Christmas Food, Winter, Entertainment, Christmas Songs, Customs and Traditions and Santa is Coming . After you have chosen an answer for each question, click again and the correct answer flashes, while the wrong answers fly off the page.

The PowerPoint is in the zip file. It is not editable. Click the ‘Read Only’ button to open. Some of the images are only revealed when the PowerPoint is played as a slideshow with the animations.

Example questions include:

  • Why did Mary and Joseph travel to Bethlehem? For Christmas, For the census or For a holiday
  • When do you start opening an Advent calendar? 1st January, 1st December or 5th November
  • True or False? Mince tarts have meat in them.
  • Which of these mammals hibernates in the winter in Britain? Foxes, Badgers or Hedgehogs
  • True or false? Olaf is a snowman.
  • Complete this sentence from a famous children’s poem: ‘Twas the … before Christmas.’
  • Which of these is one of Santa’s reindeer? Blitzen, Blitzer or Blizzard
