Since first uploading these, the Criterion Scales have been updated. At some point I will get around to making alterations and upload a new version. This older version might still be a useful starting point, if you want to adapt for yourself anyway. These are adapted from Ros Wilson's Criterion Scale and are on two sides of A4. I teach Year 3 and have them organised to make a booklet format that I can use for most of the pupils throughout the Year. There are 6 columns for recording in as I level six pieces of unaided writing during an academic year. (Actually changed to having only 3 columns on my own resource, now...) This enables me to see progress at a glance and spot trouble areas. I mark with a different colour in each session to aid clarity and because it looks prettier!
A Powerpoint Presentation for classroom use and a printable workbook with pictures and ideas for imaginative and descriptive writing. Stimulating creative writing for KS1 and poorer KS2.

30 Kindergarten Sight Word (Dolch) Printables
If you are anything like me, sometimes you just need to grab a resource on the run, hit print and get it into the eager hands of your students. This is that kind of resource!
30 K level sight words based on the K Dolch Word List.
The Dolch Word List is a list of commonly used English words originally compiled by Edward Dolch, PhD. Many sight words can not be "sounded out" and must be learned by sight. Sight word recognition improves reading fluency, allowing the student to focus their efforts on the more mentally demanding task of reading comprehension.
Words included in this pack are: all, am, are, at, ate, be, black, brown, but, came, do, did, eat, four, get, good, have, he, into, under, want, was, will, with, well, went, white, what, who, yes,
