KS3 Adaptations Lesson
A lesson resource for KS3 Science (Biology) Adaptations and Environment topic.

Consists of six worksheets with example animal pictures and space for students to identify that animal's environment, its adaptations and how the adaptation helps that animal to survive in its environment. Each sheet includes teacher's notes of 5 adaptations and explanations as well as details of the animal's environment and species-specific information for the teacher to use in the lesson.

Also included is a presentation outlining the learning objectives for the lesson and with high-quality pictures of each animal included in the worksheets.

Ideally, this would be used over two lessons - one where students can identify adaptations and research each animal and a second lesson for feedback, discussion of ideas and final consolidation of answers. However, the lesson can easily be adapted to the teacher and students' needs - it could be delivered as a homework task followed by feedback or it is possible to deliver it as a class discussion, with students filling in the sheets in during the oral feedback.
