This resource is a link to a YouTube video visit to ‘la gare d’Avallon’, a typically French train station in rural Burgundy. Johann is a native French speaker and introduces French vocabulary for the station and train travel. It is targeted at key stage 3 but can be useful at all key stages.

Supporting materials include a transcription of the video, set of activity worksheets to download and an online quiz. The link to the online quiz is in the description of the video on YouTube.

Maison Claire Fontaine is a language and activity centre based near the town of Avallon in the beautiful hamlet of Méluzien. In normal times we welcome UK schools for French immersion experiences. We have created these resources for free during the COVID crisis as we would love a small part of Burgundy to still reach young people in the UK whilst travel is not possible. All that we ask is that if you like it to share our resources widely with other teachers. We would also be very grateful if you could leave us some feedback.
