Short .mp4 video clip showing a digital 3D model of the La Madeleine Bison, a broken prehistoric spear thrower fragment made of reindeer antler that was re-carved into the shape of a bison licking its flank. Currently displayed in France's National Museum of Prehistory, this is among the most famous examples of European Palaeolithic portable art. KS2 History/Prehistory & Art.

The video was digitally modelled from a sequence of 2D photos of a life-sized resin replica of the artefact, and is annotated. The Photogrammetry software used was the free demo version of Autodesk 123D Catch, so this educational resource is distributed on a free non-commercial basis.
