AFL resource on Levels for Unit 7E. Gives students an opportunity to see what they need to do to move up levels. Can be used as class poster or in front of exercise books at start of unit; one of a series.
This resource pack includes a true or false starter activity linked to the lesson and practical. The true/false activity needs to be revisited at the end of the lesson in order to show progress. A results table is also included for students to have maximum time doing the practical element of the lesson. The practical is making their own pH indicator using red cabbage, it is easy to do and gives clear color change results. Full lesson plan included with noted links to literacy and numeracy.
A ppt / lesson plan written for OCR B5b 'The Human Heart', but suitable for any KS4 lesson on the heart. A plethora of useful youtube links and links to heart games / interactive diagrams / animated walkthroughs, etc. I would usually include a blood pressure measuring practical with this.
This resource contains a number of worksheets and activities that will help Chinese students learn Chemistry in an English school environment. It includes:

* A Chinese period table,
* Metals/non metals (w/s with pictures to describe properties)
* A funworder requiring the student to find the English element
* Some cloze style activities
* A crossword and other starters.
This is end of Module 2 Assessment which has been typed up from inside the OCR textbook as there was no electronic version available. This covers all of the topics below:
Atoms, compounds, molecules and equations
Amount of Substance
Acid-base and redox reactions
Electrons, bonding and structure
This assessment includes a range of multiple choice and longer answer questions to get students ready for the summer exams. Spaces can be typed in for students to write under the questions or they can also answer on another piece of paper. The corresponding markscheme is available as well.
I use this at the end of Module 2 to inform progress before larger assessment week exams.
