This worksheet can be used for whoever intends to work on crime fiction, detective stories, Jack the Ripper and more generally England in the nineteenth century. It is aimed more specifically at ESL students.
It includes two activities:
the first one is a split-sentence activity to get a general idea of what life was like in those days in London and Whitechapel
the second one is a very simple maze-like activity to introduce three major figures of that period (Queen Victoria, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Charles Dickens).
