The words to find are not listed. This is quite challenging so I have provided the words for less confident readers on a separate sheet.
Instructions:

• Circle or place one neat line through the words on the grid.
• Copy the word neatly below and highlight the focus long vowel sound.
• Count how many different ways there are of spelling that vowel sound.

I’d ask children to work in pairs to find the words. If they were stuck, I’d ask one pair to join another pair and share their findings. Children could compete to find all of the words and spelling alternatives first.
