There are 4 sets of questions (Number, Algebra, Shape, Data) which are mainly A and A* (with some lower grade questions from topics which students struggle with, e.g. percentages, constructions). PLEASE REVIEW / COMMENT. Students work in pairs or small groups to answer the questions. When they finish a question they get it marked and if it is correct they are given cash to the value of the question. There are bank notes which you can put your school name and pictures of your teachers on. The team with the most money at the end could be given a prize.

NUMERICAL REASONING SPEAKING FRAMES
These speaking frames support the development and reinforcement of learners' numeracy skills and mathematical language in Y1. Mathematical talk is essential in developing learner's understanding of mathematics. If learners are supported to articulate the process, they will clarify their thinking.
The speaking frames have been aligned to the Curriculum for Wales: revised Areas of Learning for the Foundation Phase. The sentence starters for each year group are appropriate to the end of year outcomes and are an effective vehicle for developing numerical reasoning.
THE RESOURCE PACK INCLUDES:
a guide to using the numerical reasoning speaking frames
a numerical reasoning speaking frame mat for learners
large speech bubbles of each sentence starter to support introduction of the speaking frames
PLEASE NOTE: The mat and speech bubble shown in the preview are general samples to show style. Each mat is tailored to specific year groups and may not match the mat shown.
