This is a challenging Y9 Assessment, which is designed to move students away from the typical PEE/PETER analysis they get stuck on at KS3.

The task is to write a monologue based on a character from an extract (Act 2 sc 3 Benedick speech).

Students annotate the extract in class, to the degree that you feel you wish to support them, and then write an analysis in the first person (like hot seating, but in a written task).

The Assessment is included, along with notes for students, a useful task to support students, and marking guidance. There is also a feedback/reflection ppt, which is designed to make links and set targets for students as they more towards more typical GCSE style questions.
