As part of the class topic ‘IPC A to B’ in KS1 we studied places near and far. The children created information booklets about the animals that live in Australia and we tried to create their habitat environment influenced by the outback representations through aboriginal artwork. This became the backdrop for the display. Thanks to Sparklebox for the Animal printouts (booklet covers) this display can be easily recreated.

MAIN DISPLAY BACKGROUND
Cut a large piece of brown, orange or yellow paper. Sketch out a pattern buy taking your pencil from one end of the paper to the other in a wave line.
Fill in with lines and circles as above and painting using poster paint.
For the title a really good website called instant display.com www.instantdisplay.com has aboriginal patterned display text, this one the children coloured.
