Case study of cholera in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake - this is designed for the OCR A Level Geography specification for the Geographical Debates paper. It is Part 1c of the Disease Dilemmas topic and includes all of the following detail:
• Case study of one country which has experienced a natural hazard, such as an earthquake, drought or monsoon rains, and the implications this has on a named disease, such as cholera or typhoid:
o geographical area covered by the hazard and its influence on the risk and outbreak of disease
o environmental factors affecting the spread of disease such as climate, sanitation, water supply and food
o human factors affecting the spread of the disease such as population density, access to clean water, immunisation programmes
o impacts of the disease on resident populations
o strategies used to minimise the impacts of the disease at national and international scales.

The resource is a reading pack - all of the necessary information is included (under ordered subheadings from the specification), so students do not need to do any further research. Maps and statistics are included throughout, alongside important evaluative comments about the content - all helping to build up the skills for answering both the synoptic questions and the evaluative essays.

I am so thankful for these Disease Dilemmas resources! they are amazing! A pure godsend for myself as I teach 7 different year groups and have a totally full timetable so literally do not have the energy or time to create such wonderful resources. I have bought most of them so far and will continue to do so as I am in such need of this assistance! have you thought of maybe creating bundles to sell? also any chance of powerpoints or lesson activities that you do? thank you once again!
