This is a complete lesson covering sections 5.1.2 a and b of the OCR Biology specification- receptors and neurones in the nervous system. It goes through the structure and function of neurones along with the difference between myelinated and unmyelinated neurones. It also covers multiple sclerosis as an example of an autoimmune disease. The lesson then moves onto the difference types of receptors and then uses the Pacinian corpuscle as an example of how receptors function.

The lesson includes a starter, full notes, various student led activities and a differentiated summary at the end.

All answers are included.

I actively try to reduce photocopying, so all of the lesson resources are within the PowerPoint rather than as extra sheets
