This lesson introduces pH by making links back to KS3 where they would have first studied the topic.
The PowerPoint then moves on to calculations involving the pH of mono-, di- and triprotic acids.
Students need to calculate the pH given the concentration and vice-versa.
The method for calculating the pH of weak acids is then introduced.
Examples are given; subsequently students must calculate the pH of several solutions given then concentration and vice-versa.
Answers are given throughout.
