Use this puzzle activity from the Encyclopaedia Britannica to learn about Poppy Day. In Britain the second Sunday in November of each year is a day of reflection, when people of all ages wear a poppy with pride. On Poppy Day everyone in Britain is asked to remember the sacrifices made by others during times of war. The special day is also called Remembrance Day or Remembrance Sunday.
Excellent resource for my adult learners. Generated a great discussion (with opposing viewpoints among my students) and provided strong reading practice with good embedding in the following Activities. Many Thanks!
