The guidance material is part of a framework of resources that have been provided by the DCSF to support schools and early years settings in promoting disability equality. The materials that have been developed seek to help in the understanding of duties arising from the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and subsequent additional guidance and legal requirements. The framework also is aimed at developing schools and early years settings in their approach to increasing access for disabled young people and children.
