In the past, I have always tried to rapidly gather books associated with a particular topic to have on a shelf within the classroom. Or, I have tried to think of great books that I can recommend to my class off the top of my head. I have developed this resource to give to the children in my class at the start of a new topic so that they can become engaged with a range of texts and further immerse themselves within the topic. They can also be used on display in your library or on your working walls to tie in with the topic you are doing.
These booklists are most suitable for Key Stage 2.
So far, I have booklists for:
Ancient Greeks
Earth and Space
Extreme Earth (natural disasters)
World War II
Book lists contain Title, Author, Book Cover and a brief Summary of the text. Some of the summaries I give credit to:
