Romeo and Juliet Act 1 Scene 5: Analysis Lesson

Teach the structure and imagery of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Includes group work and whole class work. Put pupils into groups of 4 and allow them copies of Act 1 Scene 5 (perhaps the prologue too). Split class in 2 - half look at strucutre/half at imagery. They can have access to a dictionary, thesaurus, laptop, notes on religious imagery or structure. The idea is to complete the worksheet using the questions to guide them so they can share with others after 30 mins.
