The 12-slide PowerPoint has three parts:

(1) a competition to see who can come up with the most famous feuds / rivalries
(2) an analysis of The Prologue to Romeo and Juliet, study of its rhythm and rhyme, and
(3) an opportunity for the students to try translating the prologue into words they can understand

Each of these activities will help students become more familiar with the world of Romeo and Juliet and grow more comfortable with the language of the play. They're going to spend a lot of time reading the original text, so the more we can help their comfort and familiarity with it, the better.

Enjoy Romeo and Juliet!
