GCSE English Literature Paper 1 Shakespeare. Year 10 & / or Year 11.

These booklets are designed to support students with a range of different abilities who are studying the AQA course (8702). The rationale for the booklets is to help students to independently record accurate and relevant notes, in order to create an accessible revision resource for future assessments.

The booklets can be used by students whilst they are reading the play or to provide a more focused summary of their notes as part of their revision process.
Across the booklets, each resource allows students to record:

  1. A Character Family Tree
  2. Individual Scene Titles
  3. An Act & Scene Tension Graph (to track the play’s structure)
  4. Key Themes Word Cloud
  5. Individual Scene-by-Scene Summaries & Storyboards (cloze tasks or notes tables, supported by summaries for each Act & image prompts)
  6. Individual Scene Key Quote speech bubbles (supported by a list of key quotes for each Act) & a Context checklist & / or notes table
  7. Character Acrostic (to summarise how the key characters are presented during the play)

Alternatively, this booklet can be used for homework tasks.

In addition, the PowerPoint slides provide a differentiated low-stakes quiz task for each of the play’s scenes.
