The students will learn about force as a push or pull on an object which can cause an object to accelerate, slow down, remain in place, change direction and/or shape. They will explore the concepts of force and the effects of force on objects they encounter as they investigate Newton’s Laws of Motion through hands on experiences and experiments including sport equipment, paper helicopters, parachutes and straw rockets. The students will also investigate how everyday materials can be physically changed and combined for particular purposes.
