Building‘’I see …’’sentences using the Colourful semantics concept & CVC words– for SLD and MLD learners (25 in total)

Building ‘’I see…’’ sentences literacy programme.

This resource uses the concept of colourful semantics, paired with the Living Language stages of language development. The words used in the pack are simple CVC words and colours and aim to help children put words in the correct order in a sentence. The child is given a cue picture and a coloured sentence strip with matching coloured symbols.

combining an adjective-describe (purple) and noun - object (green).

Give the child the cue cards one at a time and encourage them to complete the sentence strip, choosing from the symbols available to them.

This activity uses real-life pictures for easy recognition of common objects and sight words as sentence starters. (25 building ‘‘I see…’’ sentences)
This is also an activity to practice identifying the attributes of what and the color of a group of CVC words. There are 25 groups of CVC words and colour words. The student will match the corresponding picture to answer the questions - What? What colour?

There are 2 ways to use this file:

Print the pages and use the pages as a “cut and paste” activity. The students will use glue to paste the correct answers where necessary.

Print all the pages on photo paper and laminate them. Cut out the pages containing the colors, numbers, and pictures. There are 8 pages- (3 green and 5 purple) that serve as boards for the types of answers (“what color?”, “what?”). Use soft velcro on the backside of each CVC and colour card and hard velcro in the middle of each indivindual template and on each square containing the questions. Thus the activity can be reused as many times as needed.
