Short Poetry Course for KS2 & KS3

5 week poetry course, covering different poetic forms. Aimed at upper KS2 & lower KS3. Resources include fact sheets, lesson plans, and an introduction. Each week covers a different form: the quatrain, the acrostic, the sonnet, the tanka, and free verse. The lessons go from experimenting with the form, discovering examples written by others, memorising and reciting, preparing for a big write, and composing a final poem. The lessons can be anything from 20 minutes to an hour, depending on the child. There is room for flexibility and making it your own.
