This classroom poster explains what ‘sitting on the mat’ means for different parts of your body. Using a clear picture that is great for modelling expected behaviour, the poster uses a word and picture cue for each part of the body that is important when sitting on the floor.

Children with Autism, other special needs or those who require extra support in understanding classroom expectations, will benefit from this clear, concrete example of expectations and they are able to refer back to it regularly.
There is another version of this poster available - Sitting On The Mat - simply interchanges the words mat and floor.
