Unifix Colour & Counting Towers – Early Years / PS1
This flexible, hands-on maths resource is perfect for Early Years and PS1 learners, whether you’re in a classroom, home setting, or childminding environment. It’s designed to support early counting, colour recognition, and fine motor development through playful, practical learning — and ties in beautifully with the Welsh Curriculum.
You’ll get:
One A4 printable sheet designed for use with Unifix cubes. Learners find the correct colour cube and build a tower to match the corresponding number or quantity shown on the sheet.
This activity encourages number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, and counting accuracy while also strengthening hand–eye coordination and problem-solving skills. It can be used in a variety of ways — independently, in pairs, or as part of small group tasks — to support early mathematical understanding in a fun, engaging way.
It works brilliantly in tuff trays, maths areas, or tabletop stations and can be reused again and again for different numbers or learners at varying stages of development.
Links beautifully with AoLEs:
