Lesson to make kids think about sacrifice and martyrdom. Have used Bob Geldof - Bandaid and Michael Buerk news reel from 1984 to get them think about why something might be important enough to prompt action.
Have also used the story of Guru Tegh Bahadur to show how people might be willing to endure the worst scenarios and ultimate sacrifices for something that they believed in. Role play, hot seating, open questions and reflection task to consolidate.
