Summer Literacy Bundle: Writing Instructions, Senses Poetry and Literacy Tasks

This bundle contains summer themed literacy lessons:
1) Writing Instructions - A Recipe for a Sensational Summer
This presentation models instructional writing i.e. recipe.
It details the 'signposts of this genre :
1) ' lively' title
2) ingredients list
3) method
4) temporal 'time' words - First, Next...
5) recipe amounts - pinch, heap, dash...
6) numbered clear , precise language
7) closing line
The theme is a sensational summer which encourages the children to think about what ingredients make a wonderful summer for them. I have included a publisher document which has a recipe layout. This allows children to record their individual recipe in a booklet form.
1a) A further differentiated presentation which could be a stand alone lesson to use with learners who need a simpler approach for instructional writing. It also includes a simple editing checklist.

The writing presentations 1 and 2 are colourful, engaging and provide step by step lessons to scaffold writing.
