Text Structure - Task Cards
How to use this product:

Help students practice identifying the different types of text organization (text structure) with these task cards. This set of task cards contains 25 different cards about high interest topics for students (Twitter, Instagram, Drake, Messi, Lil Wayne, basketball, One Direction, dinosaurs and the moon landing). Many of the cards are about the same topic. This provides the opportunity to see that authors can use many different types of text organization for the same topic.

The five types of text organization that are included are:
Compare and Contrast
Cause and Effect
Sequence/Chronological Order
Problem and Solution

Answer Sheet and Answer Key is provided.

Helpful Hints:

I use these cards in small group instruction and during station activities. They also work great for students that finish quickly.

I highly recommend that you print them in color however they will still look great if you choose to print them in black and white.

I also recommend that you laminate these cards if you plan to use them over and over.
