Who doesn’t love chocolate? Inspire and engage your students with this series of four lessons where they design the wrapper for their very own chocolate bar. In the second lesson they storyboard their own advert. Next they create a billboard poster and finally they pitch their ideas to you. You decide on the success criteria and whose chocolate bar will be commissioned. (Yes they take it so seriously that they will ask you if they can make it in their Home Economics lessons!) All the activities are supported with real life examples with a particular focus on the case study of how Dairy Milk marketing has evolved since it was created over one hundred years ago. You can link this to speaking and listening, marketing or Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Or you could just do it for the sheer fun and creativity of it. Present the 34 slide Powerpoint over at least four lessons and let them get on with it. Another bonus is that it can be done individually, in pairs or in groups. Enjoy!
