The Art of Mathematics - Aboriginal Art
The Art of Mathematics looks at a variety of artists and styles of art. For each artistic style we give a brief history of origin, links to examples of the style and ideas for mathematical activities to go with specific styles. This article looks at Aboriginal Art. Aboriginal art takes many forms, from rock, bark and body painting to carving, weaving, stone art and music. One of the activities in this article invites children to use symbols to create a story.
