A lesson for Year 9 that discusses life in Berlin, the Berlin Wall and some of the best escapes that were made during the Cold War.
This lesson has an element using Elton John's Nikita, to help students consider life in a divided city.
The main task involves reading about then planning your own escape from USSR held Berlin. It works best with some music from The Great Escape.
At the end if you have time remaining, the end of the wall is discussed and there is a video to watch.
