The Best Game of Guess the Verbs Drama Literacy Activity
Drama! Get the kids up and moving with engaging interactive learning games. The IB PYP is all about inquiry and the Common Core is leading us towards more child centered inquiry and less teaching “at” the children. The learning within this 27 page, printable packet is designed with this philosophy in mind and has speaking and listening covered too. This game can be played as a whole class activity or smaller guided groups. It is a fun formative assessment tool also. Using a variety of verbs with this activity, the children are both learning about the use of applying these verbs and speaking and listening, together with discovery of how verbs can be utilized within text. (CCSS ELA L1-3.1 Knowledge of Language) Inferring is addressed also.I designed this packet with my 3rd graders in mind. It can of course be adapted for 1st,2nd4thand 5thgrade. It is ideal for literacy centers.Within this packet:

•“Pick 3” practice work activities (pick 3 nouns and apply vivid verbs)
•2 spinners with verbs and nouns for writing and drama activities
