An excellent collection of comprehension questions, perfectly differentiated. Cannot recommend highly enough. Worth every penny. I just wish there were more for the other chapters in the book!

A handy introduction to the novel, and suitably differentiated, although I used the 'highers' sheet for all of my Y6 class and found it suitable for all except SEN and my true 'highers' could have been further challenged. I found a video on You Tube in which the author was being interviewed and showed this before we read the extract. This helped to engage interest - we spoke about our expectations of the book for a while before reading. I put the extract on the IWB and had some children read aloud to the class, then gave each child a copy to work from as they completed the comprehension. Shared discussion over answers led to some good ideas as to what was to come. Overall, I would probably have been able to get the same outcome without having bought this resources - but it worked as a handy planning timesaver and provided a focussed start.
